CycleBudgetReservation

Struct CycleBudgetReservation

Source
pub(crate) struct CycleBudgetReservation {
    bytes: u64,
    outstanding: Arc<AtomicU64>,
    released: AtomicBool,
}
Expand description

One Session’s reservation against the node’s live reconstructor-cycle budget.

Charged when a PIX Session is accepted and returned when its Session closes. Deliberately a projection rather than a measurement: the alternative is to weigh the reconstructor’s actual state and refuse a share once it is too large, which loses the cycle of whichever Session happened to arrive last rather than of the one that inflated it. A reservation taken up front can only ever refuse a Session that does not exist yet.

Fields§

§bytes: u64§outstanding: Arc<AtomicU64>§released: AtomicBool

Whether release has already run, so it can be called from both the close path and Drop without the budget being returned twice.

Implementations§

Source§

impl CycleBudgetReservation

Source

fn release(&self)

Returns the reservation to the node’s budget. Idempotent.

Called explicitly by close_session, and by Drop as the backstop.

Both, and not just Drop, because the slot lives in a moka cache: remove hands the value back but drops the cache’s own clone during a later maintenance pass, so a purely refcount-driven release would return the budget at an unpredictable time — and a node whose Sessions all closed could still refuse the next one. The explicit call makes the release simultaneous with the closure that caused it; the flag is what keeps the deferred drop from crediting it a second time.
